Breaking Madden 09 News (06/24/08)

EA's own Ian Cummings has put to rest three major issues pertaining to Madden 09. Gamers have complained this year about the unrealisticlness of the spectcular catch animation. This animation is able to be triggered manually at will. It has been abused all year as it is overly effective. There will be no need to worry about this in Madden 09, as you can no longer trigger the spectcular catch animation manually when playing on the All-Pro or All-Madden levels.

Another widely debated topic the past few weeks in the Madden Community has been the addition of the "Wildcat" package into Madden. This was made famous by Darren McFadden in his college years at Arkansas. This feature was revealed a few weeks ago at EA. It basically allowed you to put your RB at QB. Since being revealed this feature has been debated at length over the net on various sites. Many people were concerned this feature would lead to unrealistic gameplay and glitches. It has been confirmed that this package (see image below) has been removed from Madden 2009.

Finally, many people have been debating the topic of the "QB Sprint Back" for years now. This is basically when the QB takes the snap and begins to run backword as soon as he receives the ball to avoid the pass rush. Gamers will sometimes take this to an extreme and run back over 15 yards. This becomes unrealistic as you can still throw extremely accurate darts to WR's all over the field. This issue has been addressed for Madden 09. If you run back with your QB, the icons to your WR's will disappear once you run back 15 yards.

It seems as if EA has taken some of it's gamers issues to heart, and addressed them. Madden 09 is shaping up to be an outstanding game that will not disappoint!
